Hope for Uganda

It's really exciting to see the peace process unfolding in Uganda, where seeds of hope have been sown for the end of a 20-year war in the north of the country. It will be interesting to see what happens in terms of the seeking of "justice"...whether the perpetrators are tried in the International Criminal Court for their war crimes, or whether traditional Acholi justice mechanisms will be allowed to take place. Forgiveness is an important key to the reconciliation and repatriation into their communities for those who have committed the crimes.

An interesting article on BBC highlights the Acholi traditions that seem to hold a lot of hope for cementing peace in this troubled area.
